snow goose hunting

Postby HOOK » Mon Mar 16, 2009 7:45 pm

Got to Missouri Monday night and saw millions of birds on the way there. Tuesday was our first day of hunting and at day break it was 12 degrees with 20 to 35 mile an hour winds. We only shot two birds on Tuesday.

Wednesday started out cold,12 degrees with 10 to 15 mile an hour winds. We shot 9 geese in the morning and from 1:00 to 3:30 my buddy and I shot 64 geese and by the end of the day we had bagged 85 geese.

Thursday it was 9 degrees out and windy. Not many geese and the the ones we called down were skittish. We did bag 19 geese and called it a day at 4:00 pm. We ended up 106 geese. If the weather would have cooperated we could have tripled our take.
Here are a couple of pics.
