Got ice??

Postby OldSailor » Sun Jan 08, 2012 8:27 am

Here we are, just passed the first week of January and I've been sitting outside on my bucket to get some use out of it!! 55 degree sunny days just don't make much ice, and eat any that had formed. I live in SW Ohio and was wondering if anyone, anywhere in the state had fishable ice :?: I keep an eye on the 10 day forecast and hope I see it getting colder in another week or so. At this rate it will be the end of January before we get on the ice around here. What's it look like where you are :?: :(
Never try to teach a pig to ice fish. It's a waste of time and it annoys the pig!!

Even up here in North Dakota we have ice but every slough or lake I fish has open spots. I don't remember a winter like this. No snow, highs in the 50's, and this is after 3 winters where we had so much snow you could barely get on lakes to fish. It's always one extreme or the other.
