Looking Forward To First Ice 2007/2008

Lets see some real winter !!! I heard that this winter should be warmer than normal but man I hope that was a fool that said that.

Nothing like that first time out each year. Heart pumping - so anxious to get a hole drilled and drop a line , Oh-No forgot the bait !!!
Anyone got any good first time out stories ?

we're starting to get ice around here....this morning all farm ponds i passed were completly covered with ice....gives a man high hopes, when yesterday they were open; need a few more nights at 15 degrees...come on give it to us!
