Devils Lake can be really hot or really dead. I never seem to have in-betweener days. The days of Devils Lake being the "Jumbo Perch Fishery of the US" are 4 years old. In the late 90s 2 lb. perch were common, now it's rare to hear of them caught.
With that being said....
Walleyes work best in the shallow flats such as Minnewauken or in or right off the timber. Pike are everywhere, that lake seriously is a slimer factory.
