A good day in the field.

Well September Goose season is finally here.  The wife and i took Dale out for his first goose hunt and we didnt get skunked. we got lucky and had three small flocks come in. the wind died down and that meant that the geese would land where ever they wanted to. luckely Dale had both flockes land right in front of him. allways good for someones first time out to have the geese land at your feet. He managed two birds and i managed one out of a flock that landed waaayyy behind us. Good weather and good company made for a Great day. Our pup Ethel was a little rusty on the first two retrieves since she didn't see the birds drop. she made up for it on the third bird.
a few pic's of the morning's trip.

The spread.

Looks like a great day! Our season opens Tuesday. No birds moving in yet though that I have seen. All residents. I have a hard time hunting when there's fish in season...
