Thanks guys. Sure has been a banner year. Plus in between (mid October) I took my wife on a "preserve hunt" in Maine, where she took a 200 pound Russian Hog and a 300 pound Red Stag. She used her single-shot 20-gauge slug gun and made two perfect, one-shot kills over three days of hard hunting in a large enclosure. I played cameraman. Normally she has always gotten stuck with that job on this hunt or that. This year I decided she should be the one to hunt and me film. Her health issues prevented a truly hard hunt for wild game on that count though, hence the high-fence hunt. She has had two painful surgeries in the past year and also suffers from both arthritis and worn-out hip joints. Plus we really wanted some wild boar to eat. I shot one many years ago and really enjoyed it as table fare. This recent hunt cost us less than a third of what my January '09 five-day Alabama deer hunt did last winter and we truly had a blast.

I am still planning to do a little deer hunting in both VT and MA soon, but will donate any meat I get to friends, a food bank, and/or women's shelter.
