Ice has been REAL sketchy...I'm tired of hearing fallthroughs on the news. I think that's kept a lot of guys off the ice.

Started off good, limited on eyes on a slough I hit at every first ice (thanksgiving time frame), then had to travel for work until Jan 4, havent caught a keeper walleye since I got back. Lots of pike though, crappies are slow. Im limited as to how far I can travel, the better half is about to give birth, so I gotta stay close to home.
you're right in saying that the ice is sketchy, but on Melissa, they are driving on it but only to a couple of spots on the lake. I use a sled and go about anywhere. Just have to find out where the keeper walleyes are at.

Went out last night, I quit counting at 12 walleyes............too bad they weren't perch, would have been nice size for perch, but too small for walleyes

Been doing well on Mille Lacs ,lots of keepers, and some big ones too. Went out yesterday caught 6 keepers ,3 slot fish(2-22" 1-18 1/2"),and 2 small fish. Been a while since I've posted a picture and I've got some decent fish to show off. I'll see if can do from my phone.

as you can see we've been catching some real nice fish and so is everyone on Mille Lacs. Both of those fish were caught the same evening(1-28-12).
