Where are the walleye?

Postby NEPA » Sun Jan 17, 2010 4:06 pm

Does anyone have any luck fishing for walleye in the small lakes? I live in northeast PA. Like other parts of the state, the commission stocks loads of walleye in these lakes. However, I never see anyone consistently catching them. In fact, I have never seen any on the ice. Any ideas????

try promton by damn.. dont even go out until at least 5 pm. park at the parking lot by the damn. you whant to walk out to where the narrow part of the lake meets the main bodie of water set your tip ups going acrossed the lake give it until about 7.30 at night also if you are adventures you can walk up to the narrows fish about 150 yard below them on the mountain side there is a hump there that comes up to about 6 feet. we have done well here.

Thanks, I will give it a try. I fished Prompton quite a bit over the years. I was pleased to see what a great smallmouth fishery it has become. I got a few decent smallmouth trolling spoons this year. Of course, nothing beats the Susky for smallmouth.

Thanks again
