just wondering what the biggest eye you have ever caught was and did you mount it?
mine was just over 12 lbs caught 2 days after the darn season closed here in mich fishing for steel head.weighed it took a couple pic's and released her to complete her mission in life..still looking for that once in a life time mount..12 plus..If I do catch one I think it will have to be a replica form the pic's I take. dont like killing the big spawners. what do you think?
if hunting and fishing was my job I should be rich by now.

Mine was a tad short over 11 pounds but taken trolling on Lake Ontario in mid-May I think. We already had two 10+ pounders at home on the wall, so didn't mount the fish. We were trolling stick-baits out by the islands near Henderson Harbor, NY

Here's a couple big ones my buddy and my cousin caught. The same evening this year, on Mille Lacs.
I've caught my biggest a 27-3/4" out of the same lake during the open water.
Take a kid fishing

This is my biggest to date. Just caught it open water fishing the other day. She went 12.5lbs, and is going on the wall. People believe these large females should go back for eggs, not true. Fish this size usually don't have fertile eggs anymore. The ones to release are the 2-4lb females. They are the breeding stock ask any biologist. Anyway I was pitching jigs at a local dam I have put many years in at and she finally hit. I barely got her netted one handed. Over the years I have let back hundreds of walleyes here with plenty going just under 10 lbs. So I am hoping this was karma catching up with me.

These are my two biggest walleye to date. both caught within 5 min of each other.
The first is a 29 1/2 inch fish caught on a jigging spoon.
The second is a 28 inch fish caught on a VMC hotskirt jig tipped with a frozen shiner.
During the same day I also released several 24 inch fish a 26 and a 27.
These were caught last winter Jan 2013.
