Two hours before sunset and all the way through sunrise the fish are typically running shallower edges looking for a meal. I would say the shallows consist of 5-20' of water. Keeping in mind they are looking to eat, so look for areas that hold bait or small game fish. Also important are well placed like weed lines ,rocks ,gravel ,cribs ,or a change in bottom (sand to muck, or whatever).

During the day move to deeper areas. I usually start at 24' and move out to the deeper water like 30'+. The fish are most of the time holding the bottom moving along looking for a easy meal ,not looking to use a lot of energy. When the fish is 3' up off the bottom ,they're active ,ready to eat.
