Lots of ice!!

After 122 miles on the sled last weekend in Vermont, right on the Canadian border, finally got out on the ice this weekend. Measured 2 feet of ice on the lake today. Was 5 degrees when I got on the lake with a 15-20 mph wind. Set up and tied down the portable first and got the heater going while I was settin up the tip-ups. Fishin for browns. Wonderin where you all set your bait for browns? I set some just off the bottom, some 15 feet down, and some just under the ice. Got flags and fish on all sets.... We ended up with 8 flags, all fish brought to the hole but I lost 6. Only iced two. Gonna change my leaders from 6lb to 15lb test. Many of the leaders broke with nice fish on them in the hole. I wish I knew more about browns! Elusive critters, they are! From what I've learned this year, they come in shallow very early before the bows, and head deep and don't hit much after, say, 9 a.m. Not that I really know for sure, but I hope that helps, anyway.
