Sylvan Lake Blues

Postby treble » Sun Feb 15, 2009 9:52 pm

Been out to sylvan about 5 times this year without much luck. Manage to see a couple whites every time, but nothing on the ice. Anyone else having luck? I have drilled alot of dry holes, and thinking of trying Gull tomorrow instead. Seems that the whites havent turned on this year at all... :(
Fish must fear me, I never see any.

The white fish look like they are all 3 lbs I sure would like a avid fisherman from Sylvan to tell us how to fish for them I have tried everything I can think of.

I have lived in sylvan my whole life all you need is a small hook (any thing will work) magotts and constently just jig up and down litely and you should be good. mostly go out over by town not where the pepole are at marina bay that is all pike but more over by norglenwold you can fined some good whites pretty much any depth and usally about 2-6 pounds is average

Thanks for the tips I will be trying that area out I really like the lake and will try to fish it in the summer if I get time as well.I usually use a white or yellow wire worm and regular maggot's.That Area is west of the marina wright.I have never caught anything perch wise longer than 10 " I fished for perch west of town then north off old hwy 11 to lake then North to the large point .Where everyone congregates.
