Good day! 12-24

Postby FishingNewEngland » Fri Dec 25, 2009 9:29 am

Got out on the ice at dawn. Having never fished this spot, I didn't venture to far until the sun came up....

F.R.E.D. met up with me shortly after sunrise. Being the only ones there, we spread out and covered a pretty good size area. Around 8:30, 3 flags go off at once. We took care of two and I went to the last one.

Got the only bass of the day...

While we were out, we had a few traps set for pike. The pike weren't biting but the pickerel were happy to give it a go. This perch was hit several times and twice, the pickerel were barely bigger than the bait...

F.R.E.D. got a couple more pike baits on the tip ups. The perch are still hitting everything and spitting it out before they stop running.

I jigged like a mad man but couldn't get away from the sun fish. There were perch being caught all around me but I couldn't find 'em. Biggest jig fish of the day...

Between the two of us, we had approx. 30 flags from dawn till 12:30. The 3 other groups out there were chasing flags all morning as well. Great little place that I'll be going back to again.
