Has anyone been out yet? Any reports?
This week's weather should really solidify things for the weekend of 1/9-1/10.
Good Luck & stay safe.
I'll report in next week.....

I was out fishing @ Budd Lake on Saturday January 2nd 2010. 18" Pike, 2 other fish missed. Too windy to jig or do anything other than watch tip ups. Ice was 5.5 to 7 inches thick. Definately safe ice, didn't hear one crack all day!

I've been out 3 times at Mt. Hope Pond. One day (Jan. 1st) my brother and I caught 21 fish, including 3 Trout, 5 Pickerel, 9 Perch, 2 Largemouth, 1 Bluegill and 1 Herring. Most of the forum action this year has been on iceshanty.com but it seems growth has caused some problems with their server. I haven't been able to post there for 2 days. Lots of reports. Many places have 4+ inches of ice and as much as 8-9" on some locations. Not many fisherman have been on this site.

I think I'll be at Hopatcong this weekend. Still need to confirm with some friends. Hope to get some Walleye or Musky there.
