Anyone out there? If so, how thick is the ice where you are...I'm looking for ideas and thinking about getting out this coming Thursday

I was out on Budd Lk. thursday. I found 3 1/2 inches of ice although there were still spots with unsafe ice and open water. Didn't catch anything but it was good to finally get out there. As of wednesday Spruce Run had about 2inches in one of the back coves. I didn't check the area near the highway. Good luck out there!!

Ice in Sussex Co.

Postby Hammer614 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 11:01 am

I passed by Steemykill Lake on top of High Point State Park on Friday night at 7pm and saw a guy out on the ice .....fishing with tip-ups. So the ice is safe there if anyone is interested. I also found out from a friend of mine that lives on the lake ......the ice on Highland Lake (the big lake) was good once you got out from the shoreline.....which was a little spotty. He said there was at least 3-4" of ice on Saturday and the shoreline might be ok today it was 10 degrees in Vernon at 8am Monday. Tight Lines---Hammer

Looks like we'll have some ice this Saturday up in North Jersey.
