Today, i was reading the news paper ...they're talking about our icecastle..Here, they're doing that since 13 years..That's just putted me something in the head... Why? if we take in consideration that we have all we need to build natural fishing shanty for free! I just mean,,the basic...igloo! Just imagine a fishing village with igloo! why not!

Thanks for posting that Steven. If you have the snow cover, it is a good ideai ! To this day, if we fish on windy days and we have the snow cover, I build wind breaks on the up wind side of my tip ups to keep them from filling with blowing snow.

Steven...it's time consuming and you can't fold them and bring them back.....
But on a more serious note I use to build igloo on the Yamaska river in St-Hyacinthe on slow fishing days...it was fun but you have to be carefull when the ice melts they are heavy and they will break the ice around and sink....I have seen it...
You can make them on shore or in low water erea to be safe...
