Dropper Chains

Postby surflizard » Thu Nov 24, 2011 8:49 am

I am curious if other fishermen are using the dropper chains on any of their lures ? I tried the Hali jigs with the droppers a few years ago and had decent success with them. I swichted the chain over to a buckshot rattle spoon and destroyed the Perch and Crappie with it last season ! :thumb: I have started switching out all my trebles and replaced them with single hook droppers and my hook up ratios have risen dramaticly ! Anyone else running dropper hook set ups ?

I will throw a Hali on once in a while when things get tough. For the most part on panfish I use a Frabill spring bobber combo with a Lindy Fat Boy and wax worms. It's a killer rig up here.

I purchased a set to try at Mille Lacs and Upper Red this January. Will pass along how I do.

A question I have about dropper chains is.....what kind of test strength do they have? I have toyed with the idea of attaching them to Buckshots for walleyes. Maybe I will have to just go ahead and try it to answer my own question. It appears that ice is starting to form and I expect (hope) to be chasing eyes on Christmas afternoon!

I have hooked and landed Decent Pickerel and Largemouth Bass on the www.Proscandinavia.com chains with no trouble, avoid the northland chains, they are soft junk !
